Dieting plans DO NOT WORK
28 03 10 - 20:30I had a pop up earlier today that upheld the facade of being not only a genuine website, but also user comments. However, quite expectedly, when I tried to post my comment there was a convenient server error. Just for everyones reading the URL in question is http://www.weightlossproductreviews.co.uk/amysstory.php
The comment I attempted to post was thus:
"How to lose weight. Stop eating as much as you currently do, but not drastically. Ideally work out your current calorie intake and reduce it but at the same time making sure you are eating a varied diet with appropriate amounts of fat, protein and carbohydrate along with foods containing the all necessary vitamins. On top of that try to just move more, not necessarily exercise excessively, just walk more than usual, or move around more. Cleaning your house is good exercise too. The two things combined will gradually lead to weight loss. Gradually IS the only way you will EVER lose weight. Ignore what is said on here. Even if it is true for this one "person", very very few people could ever benefit from this. All people will, however, benefit from a slight reduction in intake and a slight increase in activity, then after a while (if your original intake was REALLY high), another decreasing of intake and slight increase of activity. Fad diets will never work."
The honest fact of the matter is, that is the only way to lose weight. Ironically, fasting diets actually only serve to make you fatter, because the period of starvation causes your body to try and store as much fat as it can the next time you actually eat, such that it is preparing for the next period of starvation. What annoys me most about this bullshit is that everyone KNOWS what I have just said is true deep down, but very few people are willing to accept it. They just want to lose weight without any effort. But for overweight people, losing weight is just as difficult as an alcoholic trying to curb their alcohol addiction (I should know). There is, and never will be, a quick fix. If you really want to lose weight you will do the difficult thing and do it. If you don't really want to, just accept being fat and dying younger. Ultimately if you're enjoying your life that is all that matters. The only definity of anyones life is their death, we will ALL die, and ultimately, even if you have a profound impact on humanities future thinking, in the grand scheme of things it is still MASSIVELY irrelevant.
So yeah, be fat, be thin, be whatever you want. But if you want to lose weight, do what I said. And I say that with absolutely no dietary education, but I can guarantee any doctor you ask about it will agree.
